Join the WHO Global Coalition for Evidence and its partners on 26 June 2026 for an interactive webinar exploring the rapidly evolving field of research impact and research impact assessment. As governments, funders, research institutions and policymakers increasingly seek to demonstrate the value of research investments, understanding how research contributes to policy, practice, health, society and beyond has become more important than ever.

The webinar is based on work prepared by Kathryn Graham and Stephen Hanney, commissioned by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR). Participants will explore key concepts, frameworks and methods used to assess research impact across sectors and countries, including how impact assessment can support accountability, advocacy, learning and strategic investment. The session will also examine the growing importance of engaged research and productive interactions with decision-makers and communities, as well as emerging opportunities related to methodological innovation, global research reforms and the role of artificial intelligence.
